HWCT supports students with educational facilities – Shreeja Nanda
Education is the basic necessity for the survival of mankind. In this dog-eat-dog world, a life without having the necessary education needed to survive has grave consequences which leads to global problems such as poverty, exploitation of the poor to name a few. Schools can be considered as the traditional sources to receive education, sometimes for a nominal fee, otherwise for a huge lump sum amount. People who can afford to spend such money enroll in top schools to get the best education one can receive. However, those who wish to learn and have the zest for it, sometimes fail to receive it due to monetary issues. Such was the story of students from a school in the Beed district of Maharashtra.
The infrastructure of this school, as observed by HWCT volunteers, was not sturdy enough to accommodate children on a large scale. There was no furniture available for the students to place their books on and write, nor were the teachers provided with a black board to teach students on. As important as it is to provide quality education, it is equally important to ensure that the learning environment is conducive enough for every student. So, we at HWCT supported this school with basic furniture such as study tables, benches and chairs for the students to sit on and also provided blackboards and tables for teachers to write on. This reformation resulted in creating a much more prosperous environment for students to study in, and also lowered the number of early dropouts!
HWCT understands the need for education and helps children and adults alike to realise their potentials to achieve their dreams. Our main goal is to ensure that no child in the world should be deprived of basic formal education. Thus, we wish to help fulfil the dreams of every child who hopes to reach for the stars.
