Teacher devoted his life for the students – Shreeja Nanda
“Children are the future of our nation. I cannot think of any other job as fulfilling as shaping our young minds ”, said Mr. Sanjay Jadhav, a teacher from Ratnagiri. Mr. Sanjay has dedicated most of his life to educate young children who cannot avail quality education due to their financial issues. “Earlier, I used to teach in a government school in the city. During my visit to my native village Ambatkhol, I realised that children here are deprived of basic education due to poor educational administration facilities such as lack of stationary, benches, teachers and so on. As fulfilling as my earlier job was, I couldn’t help but think of the reformations I could make to reinvent teaching in Ambatkhol.” And so began his journey of educating underprivileged children.
10-year old Atul, who is one of Mr. Sanjay’s students, when asked about him, says, “Sir is very nice and helpful. Earlier, I used to struggle with maths. I was unable to perform basic calculations. With sir’s dedication, I learnt maths every single day. Today, if you give me any mathematical equation, I can easily solve it in less than 2 minutes.” When asked about his students, Mr. Sanjay replies, “I can only provide the means and necessities required by every student. In the end, it is their sheer grit and dedication that has helped them come so far in their life.”
There are many educators around the world such as Mr. Sanjay. HWCT salutes their spirits and wishes many more people indulge in such teaching activities.
