Supported kids with further education – Shreeja Nanda
During a field visit to a school in Raigad, Kalpesh Kabra, the founder of HWCT India, noticed three children playing on the school playground. He observed that these children were not in their school uniforms. So, he approached these children and asked them a few questions.
Kalpesh asked: What are your names?
Nimesh: Uncle, my name is Nimesh. These two are Arjun and Kartik.
Kalpesh asked: Why are you not wearing your school uniforms? Do you not study in this school?
Arjun: Uncle, we used to study in this school. But we had to dropout because we didn’t have enough money to pay the school fees.
On hearing this, Kalpesh felt really sorry for these children. In this day and age of competition, education serves as a basic necessity, nay a right. And to help these students get access to their rights, he decided to financially sponsor each one of their scholastic education. Today, Nimesh, Arjun and Kartik have completed three whole years in school and are currently in the 8th standard. Had it not been for that chance encounter, the fate of these three kids would have seen a completely different way.
There are many such children, like Nimesh, Arjun and Kartik, who deserve a chance to prove their capabilities to the world. We, at HWCT, aim to realize their potential and help them reach their goals in the best way possible. Our main goal is to ensure that no child in the world should be deprived of basic formal education. Thus, we wish to help fulfil the dreams of every child who hopes to reach for the stars.
